Surprisingly it actually works
I am surprised that this adapter actually works as advertised. I was skeptical mainly because I know how much Apple likes to block hardware. That's how it works! I have tried this device in both the MacBook Pro and MacPro. It worked great in the MacBook Pro, the new drive was faster than the stock drive and of course bigger. When I put the same drive in a MacPro, it got significantly faster! This is obviously an answer based on the machine's architecture, but still it was very surprising. When restoring from a TimeMachine backup, I got an average of 120 MB/s. My computer starts up like lightning and is a joy to use. Highly recommended for users who need a hit in terms of size/speed.
