I went and bought some attachments to fit the filter and then attach to each of my water lines that go to the washing machine. I connected one end of the cold water supply to the inlet and then the other end to the other side where filtered water goes to the washing machine. It works like a champ and I chose a place where I can easily access it and change the filter.
