I have bought both the 3 and 2 outlet versions of the Fosmon mechanical outdoor timer. I thought I would use one to light up my chicken coop (which stays dry) and maybe one for the Christmas lights. I accidentally chose the 3-socket model in the chicken coop. Worked for a good month. The timer (dial) became so tight that it stopped rotating. I then put a two outlet model in the barn which has been working for about the same time so far. When switching over, I noticed that the dust cover on the dial looks much better on the dual-outlet model. The dust cover on the 3-outlet model did NOT stay tightly closed over the dial. Perhaps this is the reason for its failure, since it can be quite dusty in the chicken coop. However, I hope that the dual outlet model lasts longer. I'll let you know when it wears off or when the days get long enough that I don't need to use it anymore. I hope this will be the last. If the second one makes it through the winter the rating will stay the same just because I can't give five stars after the second one has already failed. Of course, if the second one fails, the rating will be lowered.
