Update: I've lowered my rating to 4 stars due to the recent ham blade detaching from the shaft during use. It seems to happen mostly when I hit the shutdown button. This happens about every other time and I can't find the reason for it. It still cuts and shreds well so I only deducted one star but the issue is annoying. Original Review: I mainly use it for slicing potatoes and carrots and it works like a dream especially with potatoes. It goes through them in seconds and makes perfect slices. The pieces can be washed in the dishwasher but I have only hand washed them and they are very easy to care for. My only complaint is that I had to purchase the 6mm cutting blade separately. I think it should come standard with a food processor as it does a lot better at slicing the foods I need than the 4mm blade that comes with it. The 4mm blade works well and is probably fine for slicing veggies for salads, but they are a bit flimsy for cooking. Cuisinart is stingy with included attachments, but well priced and meets my needs. It would be especially nice if they included a blade storage box, but there are a few decent ones that can be purchased separately.
