I had a digital oxygen sensor that fell into my Instant Pot yogurt and died (although I was able to fix it by soaking it in rice for a few seconds). so i ordered this - digital thermometer prices have come down a lot since i bought oxy. But it's a great thermometer with a fixed (but foldable) probe that's good for liquids, or an oven probe that lets you roast meat while skipping food. You can set a standby temperature to get a notification when you've reached your desired temperature - great for meat so you don't have to keep checking. There are also (not exactly consistent but helpful) instructions on how to recalibrate in ice water (basically fill a glass with ice, touch the probe and figure out how to set it to 0 or 32 depending on how you use your Temperature like. I've used it a bunch, plus it comes with an extra battery pack which can be useful, although disc batteries tend to last a while. I highly recommend it. It also has a magnet for flat surfaces ( i.e. no quick panning.) However, this is very useful, e.g. yogurt, which requires two solid readings - one during cooking and another when refrigerated when the culture is introduced.
