Review on Enhanced Productivity: HumanCentric Portable Monitor Consoles with Magnetic Built-In Speakers and IPS - Model 301-1023 by David Gonzalez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The price (and the equipment) is right!

Just before the virus spread around the world I got a third monitor for my computer in my office and I was in heaven. Then, when things got really serious and we had to work from home, I first had to go back to just using my laptop's display, and then I got a USB-powered monitor from ASUS as a second extended display. This display was a little pricey, mostly due to the auto-rotation feature that prompted drivers to work. However, the value the second monitor added to my workflow made the purchase worthwhile. I had the opportunity to buy this USB monitor from HumanCentric and I decided to do it. I wanted to have a 3 monitor display for my laptop at home, but connecting to 3 full sized monitors in my house would be impractical due to space limitations. I saw that there is an affordable solution called the Trio Max screen, but each screen is expensive and you have to buy them separately. I decided that two USB portable monitors would be the most economical option. HumanCentric's wearable monitor has a very attractive price. If you understand what you're getting for that price, it's even better. The packaging is very professional and the box has good padding to protect the monitor. With the display you get a user manual, a troubleshooting guide, a USB-C to USB-A cable, a USB-C to USB-C cable, a mini HDMI to HDMI cable, a wall adapter and a magnetic adapter. Case that serves as a stand for the display. The display itself is very well made. It's very durable and has a very small bezel with a nice silver accent. The display has a matte finish and also includes built-in speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack and two USB-C ports (one for power and one for data), a mini-HDMI cable, a power button and a rocker. adjust settings. The HumanCentric monitor is more like a traditional monitor in that it has display settings that you can customize, e.g. B. Brightness, speaker volume, HDR settings, color temperature settings and input selection settings. The ASUS monitor I have has no display settings at all. It has a warm screen tint so it doesn't match my laptop display which has a cooler display setting. I set the HumanCentric monitor to have a similar color temperature and is therefore much easier on the eye. The monitor is a Full HD (1920 x 1080) display. The speakers aren't bad, but I wasn't expecting speakers at all, so the option is pleasant. The picture on the display is quite good. The only real downside of this monitor compared to the ASUS monitor is that it requires more connections to run. An ASUS monitor just needs a proprietary USB-A connection and you're good to go. This monitor requires at least two. The USB-C to USB-A cable can either be connected to the laptop or to the wall via an adapter for power delivery, and then you can use either an HDMI cable or a USB-C cable to power the Connect the monitor to the laptop for viewing. You may need a wall adapter if your USB port has enough power to power the monitor. You need two different connectors for this monitor, which is why I deducted a star. For a mobile setup, it would be better if only one cable was needed, but the HumanCentric monitor requires more power, so you need to be aware of that before purchasing. The magnetic case that comes with the monitor is amazing. It holds the monitor really securely and is way better than what I got with the ASUS monitor. The monitor works when set up correctly and I am very happy with it. If you have limited USB/USB-C connections this might not be for you, but if so I can't recommend it highly enough. I am very happy with it and finally have full productivity from working from home.
