Never again - don't stick to embroidery floss

Oh what a nightmare. I've been embroidering for 50 years, but never with dental floss. If I hadn't made this as a gift request I would have thrown it away. From now on I'll pay extra and stick with wool for quality sewing.1. Each strand needs to be split into 6 separate strands and then combined back into one strand. Splitting the strands causes the strands to kink a bit (which I believe is the cause as it gives the gathered strand more volume/thickness to cover) making clean reconnection a chore. The same result can be achieved without a headache, JUST WITH WOOL.2. The eye of the needle is too small to accommodate the newly gathered threads. I broke 2 needle threaders and then switched to a larger needle.3. I literally spent more time parting/gathering the strands and trying to thread the damn needle than I actually sewed.

Pros
  • Includes presorted cotton thread, wool hanging thread, 14 mesh cotton canvas with full color print, felt pad, needle, embroidery alphabet and easy-to-follow instructions.
Cons
  • Very expensive
