Well, I will not give a super technical analysis of the pros and cons. You can read 2xx other reviews for it. I will say this: c330 is an excellent device for a damn low price (299 shipped!). You just take it out of the box and it's ready to use. First, I've never had GPS gear. Although more expensive models like the c340 speak street names and the nuvi 350 is no bigger than a deck of cards, the c330 has everything a GPS novice needs to get around town or the countryside. USA and Canada are already loaded. I really wanted the Nuvi 350, but it was out of my price range. I considered the c320 to save more money, but with a $20 price difference (on Revain) getting the c330 made perfect sense. It has most of the major restaurants, gas stations, attractions, and a bunch of other POIs by category that I'll probably never need, but it's just nice to know they exist when I need them. or when I'm bored and just want to see what other POIs this thing has. As for voice navigation, it usually tells me to turn when it's 0.1 miles away. I think the hints on "rotating" might be a bit early, but as long as you know, you'll be fine. Now it would be nice if he named the correct street, but a quick glance is all it takes to see which street he's talking about and you're on the right track. The text on the screen is clear and legible. I installed it closer to the bottom of the windshield. By the way, this holder has a very good suction power. I don't know what people are talking about when they say the mount won't hold. Here's what some people might overlook about the mount: It has a lever that's in a "locked" position when you pick it up. So what you have to do is "unlock" the lever up. Attach it to the windshield and flip the lever down to 'lock' and the thing will be nice and tight there! To remove it, just twist it in the opposite direction and it will come loose. There are a few things that struck me. Almost all of the routes were chosen from the ones my fiancee (she's from Baltimore, not me) would take. I set the fastest route, but at some destinations I turn too early or take a detour. For example today I went to Costco and they told me it was the right way to turn off the freeway but the c330 told me to go straight and basically make a big circle. It was only a few minutes longer, so no big deal. If I were alone now I wouldn't even notice because I don't know the area at all. So yes, there's a chance it won't take the most ideal route, but then again, this Garmin route won't take you too far from a route that a person familiar with the area would take. I haven't checked. an sd slot but i read that loading custom POIs is pretty much useless until you upgrade to c530 and higher models. The SD slot reads maps for other countries, so all hope is not lost if you plan to travel to areas outside the US. To download custom POIs you need to take the c330 with you and connect it to USB. it straight to your computer. Basically you load it directly into the c330's internal memory. Garmin says it has 2MB of onboard storage, although they haven't specified how much of that is actually used by the device. So until now I don't know how much usable internal storage. I don't intend to download tons of POIs, so that's not a problem for me. What I did in the few days I used was look up where I want to go (on the internet) and get an address or just look it up on c330. I have saved the places I visit frequently in my favorites section so they are always there when I need them. Another thing I want to mention is the size. Don't expect to put it in your jeans pocket and people won't notice ;). Yes, it's small, but the Nuvi 350 isn't small. But to get the little Nuvi 350, you'll have to shell out about $150 more. It doesn't seem like much more, but for those on a tight budget I think you can solve the sizing issue. I usually keep mine in my jacket pocket where there is more room. I don't even realize he's there. I also have a side bag but I won't put it there until I have a case for it. I couldn't use it in direct sunlight. People say glare kills, but I'm sure it's nothing an anti-glare screen can't fix. Revain also sells them. They're from Boxwave, in case you're wondering. So. Just a few minor setbacks that can easily be overlooked or overcome with a few adjustments. It doesn't have all the fancy features of an MP3 player or Bluetooth, but if you just want to know how to get to your destination safely while still having some really useful features from a famous brand, you can't go wrong. c330.btw, I already mentioned it's only $299 :)
