I read a lot of reviews and chose this one because I liked the strap with a cord to fasten it around my neck. I thought this one would be safer. Our cat had a corneal ulcer removed and had to wear a cone for a month. We got this to wear when he was in foster care. It was a great way to make it more comfortable but we never let him carry him unless we were watching him as it prevented him from getting his paws to his eyes but he could still bang his head on something or something rub. something else. Cats might punch or lick his eye. Would be ideal for sterilization surgeries etc. Highly recommended. First we ordered a small but it was tiny - his head didn't fit in any way. It only seemed suitable for a kitten. Wednesday was perfect. When it opened fully, his head slid in easily without chafing his eyes, and then we tightened the cord for a secure fit. It wasn't too bulky and he could sleep in it. He was MUCH happier with it than with the cone and seemed excited to wear it. I washed and dried it and it's like new.
