I'm a big fan of massage guns and have used many different brands including Hypervolt, Timtam, modded noisy jigsaws that are cumbersome to use etc. My favorite tool at the moment is the Medcursor MG01 for its simplicity, small size, high power, strength. Build quality and quiet operation. I really think this is the gold standard for most money. When I saw this MG03 I decided to try it out and compare it to my current favorite as my wife keeps 'borrowing' mine. Features and Ease of Use: MG03 has more features than MG01. It has three modes: fitness, medicine and wellness. Fitness mode maintains a constant RPM while the other two modes change or maintain a slower speed based on realistic hand pressure. Personally, however, I mainly use the fitness regimen and enjoy the medicinal regimen when I use it in just one area for a long period of time. The LCD screen is clear, bright and stylish, displaying battery life, current RPM, massage mode and elapsed time. Touch controls are conveniently located just below the screen. At first I was concerned that the buttons might change their settings when I put my palm on the screen to apply more pressure. To my surprise, this is not a problem at all! I'm still not a fan of touch buttons, preferring just one physical button for all functions on the side, like the MG01, for easier access when using a weapon. There's also a physical on/off switch on the bottom of the massager, and while it's redundant, it's good that you don't accidentally turn the massager on. I wish there was a way to combine the mode button with the on/off function and put it on the side. The heating function is chargeable and limited to the flat nozzle. Although it feels pleasantly warm on bare skin, you won't feel anything in clothing and it takes a few minutes to warm up properly. I see people using it in combination with the health mode for a great relaxing massage session, but it's not worth it for me who's always in a hurry and prefers a well-rounded attachment. Build Quality: Definitely built to a very high standard than most other brands I've used. and feels slightly firm. While the MG01 has a rubberized plastic grip, the MG03 uses a real rubber grip. It doesn't smell like chemicals or rubber, and the box was damn better than what comes with the $300 pistols. The MG03 is much heavier than the MG01 and feels heavy. The extra weight can be helpful for reaching deeper tissues, but bad for when you're out with your massage gun. However, I like to use my own strength to reach deeper muscle groups, so weight isn't an issue for me. The tips are well made and of higher quality than the MG01. I prefer the ones on the MG01, especially the stainless steel ones, which fit my wife well and are easier to keep clean. The heating nozzle is plastic and the MG01 has a flat nozzle which you won't find anywhere else. Power: Believe me, you don't need more power, no matter how big you think you are a Hulk. Anything stronger can tear and bruise muscle tissue and fibers. Those loudly modified puzzles you see on Amazon that claim to be better aren't. It packs a lot of power thanks to its brushless motor, which technically should last a lot longer than other massagers. Compared to the MG01, it seems to move a bit further and more powerfully, so it's also a bit louder. Not enough to make a difference for most people, but check out my video comparison and you're the judge. I can't comment on the battery life as I'm not running out of juice in either the MG01 or MG03. In any case, I charge them once every few days, although I haven't seen them go below 50% yet. Charging the MG03 is much faster due to the higher voltage of the included charger. General Thoughts: For a little more money, you get a lot more features and performance with the MG03. However, I can't appreciate the portability and simplicity of the MG01. I think the MG01 has earned the right to stay in a gym bag and the MG03 is my new family favorite at home.
