I've tried all kinds of smart bulbs from different brands since I discovered the HomeKit bug earlier this year. I have 4 lamps L1 and L2 from this company. This L3 is basically the big brother of L1. A physically larger bulb that gives more light. In my photos, L3 on the left and L1 on the left. Photos don't capture the brightness very well, but the L3 was brighter in person. Not too bright, but it was definitely noticeable right away. This bulb was easy to set up and HomeKit was just as enthusiastic as any other VOCOlinc device in my growing collection. There is a small nuance I noticed when comparing it to L1 and I really like it. When I turn on L1 or L3, it takes about a second for them to get brighter. Almost all lamps I have do this, it's not critical. But when you turn them off, L1 just turns off instantly and L3 turns off for another second and dims until it's completely off. Modest but nice. I love using these colored bulbs in frosted glass lights from IKEA. VOCOlinc lamps add a splash of color to my living room and front windows at night. I would never use L1 for regular white light to actually light up my room as they aren't as bright as I prefer so I leave them for accent lighting at night. However, I definitely see the L3 as a much more versatile lamp in my home in the future.
