The distributor looks fine, but a slight wobble worries me.

The distributor looks good but I am concerned about the slight wobble I can get if I hold the distributor housing while squeezing the gear which can cause movement from the distributor shaft. Anyway, I installed this distributor today 07/11/17 because my original no longer holds the distributor cap. After putting my engine at TDC last night and pulling the old one out, this morning I fitted this new one which turned out to be very weak in my 350 5.7 engine. The only way to reduce this new large manifold wobble in all directions is to use the retaining clip that came with the manifold. The only reason I see a new, very tight clamp with a round hole instead of an oblong one was provided, was to alleviate the very loose fit of the distributor. I was surprised that my engine actually started with this new distributor and there was no noticeable increase in performance, but I did notice that my truck did not have the same performance as it did before this new distributor was fitted, it was very noticeable when I was towing my caravan . Today work. Would I buy this distributor again, no way! lol, well maybe if it was the only one available in an emergency. In the next few days I will be spending money to buy a good distributor from my local parts store because I am very concerned about the performance of this distributor and its really loose fit and I pray it doesn't cause me an ugly death. Replace engine. This story suggests you get what you pay for. Buyers should be warned that I believe this distributor was made for many different uses or just poor quality. I will check if this distributor can be returned but it is. most likely more effort than it's worth.

Pros

Cons
