I love this adapter

I love this adapter! It was a great way to start macro photography without the high price of a dedicated macro lens. It's also a lot easier than dealing with extension tubes as you don't have to unscrew anything from the camera. It just turns on and off. In addition, it is much more compact, easier to store and take with you on the road. I was photographing dandelions the other day and my daughter told me she saw a zebra sailboat which I was hoping to photograph. If I had extension tubes on my camera, I would have to unscrew everything, screw in a new lens, and climb to take the shot. Other than that, I just unplugged the adapter and ran to look for the butterfly, which I did and was very happy. :) I'm sure I would have missed with tubes. Another advantage is that it works with almost every camera. I have a Nikon D3100 and was having trouble figuring out if the many extension tube ports would work with my camera. I have nothing to fear from that. I'm still full of features with my camera. I can use it with any lens for different macro zooms. When used with my 55-200mm lens I found I could get a magnification ratio of up to 1.6:1 at full 200mm magnification. Of course, the picture loses some of its sharpness at this point, as in the case without an adapter. I noticed that there is a lot of chromatic aberration in high contrast images. This is perhaps the biggest mistake for me. Sometimes aberration can be quite noticeable and distracting and difficult to edit. However, I have no experience with other macro devices, so I cannot compare it to others. The depth of field is VERY thin, especially when used to the limit. If you want greater depth of field, you need to learn to stack focus. But then again, I think it applies to macro photography in general when you reach that power. Overall I LOVE it. I had so much fun photographing flowers, bugs, coins and other random things. It opened up a whole new world of things to photograph right in my home and garden. :) I added some photos to this review. None of them have been cropped to appear taller.
