Compare this design to any other can crusher design. This one has a hopper, a pusher and uses traction, which is the easiest form of work in terms of efficiency. yes it is plastic and looks thin. That was my first criticism. After installation and use, however, this criticism changed. It's plastic, so it won't rust or get dirty from canned moisture. In fact, plastic is better for this reason. The bunker looks flimsy but works great. It doesn't have to be hard, strong, or metallic. It's just a bunker. This is a product worth buying together. It's cheap and has the simplest and most efficient design available. Mount it at waist height with a small bucket or trash can and enjoy the extra space in the trash can.
