Review on πŸ”ͺ Portable Manual Paper Shredder - Easy-to-Use Hand-Operated Shredder for Efficient Paper Destruction by Andrew Patel

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It's okay if you just shred a random letter. UPDATE: Ditch the pin, use a 7/32 " ratchet.

The weak link was the handle, which cracked and snapped around the metal hex bar. With a ratchet and a 7/32" bit, I can easily tear a laminated letter folded in three! I don't know how long the rest last, but with the new "button" it shreds better than ever. --- This is a decent shredder if you just need something for the occasional junk and don't want to waste money, time and space on something electrical. As you can see from the photos, the device is 7 1/8" long with a rotating handle on one end (reversible!). The paper slot is only 4 3/8" long; only slightly larger than the width of standard half-fold printer paper. However, after a small jam of this thing due to accidentally folding the paper on one end (which you will), the shredder won't be able to shred anything thicker than a layer of printer paper. Again, just destroying random letters is fine, especially if you cut out identifiable information and leave the rest in the trash. It serves that purpose well. If you shred more, get more shredders.

Pros
  • Feels good.
Cons
  • . Expensive insurance.
