Review on ☕ KRUPS ET351 Coffee Maker: Programmable, Thermal Carafe, 12-Cup, Black – Review & Buyer's Guide by Gary Bush

I have had another company's filter coffee maker for many years that had a leak which led me to try this Krups machine. The functions are easy to use and beautifully designed. It will make a polite short beep when the brew cycle begins and then 3 more polite short beeps when ready to pour. I like this feature because it allows me to do something in another room and still know when the cycle is complete. The great thing about this machine is that the thermograph actually retains heat. My other coffee maker made good coffee, but the thermograph didn't hold heat well. I preheated the carafe with hot tap water and did the same with the mugs that the coffee was poured into, but the first sip of the "hot" coffee was never hot enough, meaning a slow slurp would have a pleasant effect . a well-chilled sip to finish. Not so with this one. From what I can remember, the ideal coffee brewing temperature is somewhere in the 193-203 degree range, and Krups probably warms up to the high end of that range. Now I need to calm down because it's really VERY hot and I can sip slowly and still have quite warm coffee at the bottom of the cup. And the carafe keeps it warm for hours. In fact I forgot I left some coffee in the carafe one evening and although it sat on the counter in the kitchen all night, when I removed the lid to clean the coffee pot in the morning the coffee was still surprising warm. !It took me a while to adjust the brewing process to bring out the flavor of the coffee I'm buying, but that's what I expected. There's a regular or a rich option (bold pressure makes the water flow through the bottom more slowly, extracting more flavor), I also grind the beans myself and have a range of grind settings to choose from, each changing the flavor. final taste. But I am satisfied with the taste and of course the sharpness. I've had drip makers which I think could make a slightly more flavorful drink, but the difference is minimal and I'm still playing around with options to see if I can improve it again.
