These shorts are the BEST shorts - they're 100% worth the extra price. Why?1. Fit - They have a very snug, almost flattering fit. First I tried the "TOMSHOO" brand and it turned out to be really weird. Very high and very small waist that I couldn't fasten (and I'm a tiny person). They are made from a combination of neoprene and a thinner stretch polyester/lycra blend. They are flat at the front, soft on all sides. (For reference, I'm 5ft 2in, 95lbs, I'm short. They fit perfectly.) 2. Full Protection - Other brands have side and tailbone pads but no padding for your "sit bones". They protect everything, including your sit bones! I wear them *over* my leggings and I don't feel too silly. I feel like people understand why you wear protection when you don't actually have a car, but it's almost like regular cycling shorts, just with a little "insurance" for the parts you need most . They are amazing!
