A piece of junk!

This cover is terrible! The sides in my set did not have a lip as shown in the pictures so they could be set flush with the top of the tank. Instead, you'll have to buy clamps to hold it in place and trim it to fit the top, or let it rest on the tank. Also, the screen is not at all like the pictures. It looks more like 1/8" mesh than 1/4" as stated in the description. It's also very thick, so it blocks a lot of light and barely fits the max width. It is also almost impossible to collect. The strainer is so thick that the rubber insert holding it has no chance of fitting into the groove provided. I tried to assemble it as it was supplied and had to use a hammer and center punch to try and push the rubber into the groove. It was so tight it ripped rubber. After a few inches I noticed the screen material was breaking and I had to cut off a piece and start over. To assemble it I had to cut some rubber with a razor to make it thinner. Normally with canvas material, you trim off the excess after assembly to allow for some stretch, but that doesn't happen here. The screen is too small and the groove is too small to fold the screen in half. You need to cut it short enough to only get into one side of the groove. So I was finally able to assemble it, but only because I had to attach a strainer to the tank to keep the fish from jumping out. The solid top overheated the tank and I needed more airflow. Since you have to cut it open to assemble it, Revain customer service should allow a no-return refund. Save yourself the headache and just buy a Red Sea screen cover.

Pros
  • Prevent farm animals from leaving the aquarium | Molded "sponge" rails allow the screen to sit neatly on the inside rim of your aquarium
Cons
