Review on TAMIYA America, Inc Mini PE Part Bending Pliers, TAM74084 by Hannah Curi

Simple and Thoughtful

Of the various photo etching tools I have used, this is the simplest and the best. I think they're better than pliers because the angled cross-section of the jaws allows them to be bent a little over 90 degrees to offset the metal's natural springiness. Clamping the part precisely was easier than with my folder because I can adjust the pressure with my hand, allowing me to slide the part until it lines up. I also found it to be less prone to losing traction. I can also see and access the top and bottom of the part; The folding jigs I use clamp the part onto a flat table, allowing only the top view. Please note that this tool with its small jaws is ideal for bending very small parts. Larger jaws are available for bending longer parts. A NOTICE. Both tools have some lateral play when aligning the jaws (less of an issue with these short jawed pliers). To make the bend exactly where you want it, make sure the jaws are perfectly aligned before bending the brass. One star deducted for that. Also, the edge of the jaws is not quite straight, when viewed under magnification there is a very slight curvature.
