I will not repeat what has already been said in many other reviews, except that the flash is great. its very powerful, great built-in features, its slave ability and yes you will probably want to read the manual if you are not familiar with how to use strong flash on skin tones. I usually use this flash with reflection when I'm in doors. It creates great natural light when the gift is not available. HOWEVER, I've used the 5th battery more than once for faster charge times at busy events (e.g. an awards banquet) only to find that my charge times were still slowing down after about 20 minutes. Then I opened the battery compartment and found that my Energizer lithium batteries looked like they were about to explode off the terminals! They literally flowed out. This has happened more than once with many different batteries. So I have to assume it wasn't "bad" batteries. Maybe I got a bad block. but I thought it would be safer to send an alert. Again, this only happened when using the 5th battery pack, which was supposed to give the device more voltage so it could charge faster.
