I bought these and used them in my fridge to see if it was keeping the temperature within acceptable limits. to open the back and remove the plastic between the battery and the contact. Setting up thermometers is easy - resetting them is easy too. The only "problem" I had was that even though both were supposed to show the same temperatures on the counter where they were before they were placed in the freezer and fridge, there was a half degree difference. I can live with that. I put both in the freezer to test it. Both read the same temperature. Then I put both in the refrigeration department where they were half a degree lower. I can live with that again. One is in the freezer and the other is in the fridge. The thermometer can be detached from the stand and also hung on the stand with a hook. They also come with zippers.
