They are so bright! Do not install it near the headlight - the light will be reflected and turn itself off - then turn on, then turn off. Also disassemble the lamp - the photocell is made of transparent plastic - the lamp turns off from the inside. I have installed over 20 of these lamps in different places. I started by taking the bulb apart and covering the inside of the sensor with liquid electrical tape or butal. This fixes most of the ono off issues. All the other off issues are due to reflections and I make visors (small ones) out of butal to get rid of them.
