Review on πŸ”΄ Kensington Blackbelt 2nd Degree Rugged Case for Surface Pro 7, 7+, 6, 5, & 4 - Red: Protect Your Device with Durability by Kaveen Reyes

Revainrating 3 out of 5

This is a good case; I prefer a different case

I have tried this case and the UAG case with built in stand for my Surface Pro 7. On paper, Kensington should win:* Stand support should go to Kensington UAG forces you to use a poor quality stand* Pen stand should be provided by Kensington as it offers a tether suitable for travel* Weight/feel should be Kensington be attributed as it allows you to wrap the keyboard naturally and use the surface as a tray Gains on paper but I don't. The UAG case turns Surface into a beautiful, rugged laptop with tablet mode (tablet still works, just remove the keyboard). It's good for travel when protection is needed. Kensington makes the Surface a mediocre tablet and a mediocre laptop. The kickstand is difficult to open, the fast charge port is difficult to use (USB-A and USB-C are transparent), the optional pen loop is on the wrong side for right-handed users. That's not exactly what I want. I will say that I dropped my Surface in a corner during the Kensington fall. It had that same "crunch" that techies dread. And Surface survived! So in my experience that's a good case, just not for me.

Pros
  • Tablet accessories
Cons
  • Good overall but...
