Review on πŸ”§ Premium HVAC Heater Blend Door Actuator Replacement for Chevrolet Corvette 2005-2013, Impala, Malibu, Monte Carlo, Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac XLR – Temperature Blend Door Actuator 1573517, 1574122, 604108 by Marco Maurer

The nervous crunch ended with a click under the steering wheel.

The dealer asked $900 to replace all the mixed gears under the dash on my 2009 Impala. So I googled how to fix this and ordered these actuators before the vehicle was inspected. Here's the good news: anyone with Ikea-level mechanical skills will know how to replace this part after watching a YouTube video once and save at least $400. Here's the bad news: Squeezing and twisting your body into the position required to access the side temperature mixer actuator on the Impala's driver's side in 95-degree weather was so close to hell on earth, as I can imagine. Seriously, the hour to fix this was worse than the 5 hours of sitting in the dentist chair getting multiple root canals, crowns and fillings. If I knew how scraped and scratched my hands would be or how bruised my ribs would be 2 days after leaning my full weight against the side panel and pulling out a not-too-small ratchet to loosen the flat bolt under the steering wheel on the right in addition to the gas pedal, 2 wiring harnesses in the back and a hard black cable, i would just pay someone double that. The good news is I didn't need another actuator so I have a spare in case the next one fails at a price other sellers charge for just one. In addition, the two other mixed drives in the Impala are much easier to reach. It's been installed for over a month with no issues so the item seems good. And that heartbreaking click every time I open the car door has stopped. Bonus tip: The best additional tools for this would be a tiny ratchet with a 4 inch extension and a variable speed cordless screwdriver with a flexible polygonal extension. .
