Review on ⚡ 55 Amp PowerMax RV PM3-55 12V DC Power Supply Converter Charger - 110V to 12V by Pete Norris

Revainrating 5 out of 5

So far, so good, and in 24 months and two summers it's time for the third.

Connected at home, started and runs perfectly, fan runs only sporadically, device does not get hot even under load. I checked the voltage, everything is fine. It's a hair's breadth wider than the plug-in, but nothing that's stripped a little here and there of the ugly brown electrical box cover isn't going to take care of it. I charged the 2 big batteries I have and it idles without charging the fan and running all that stupid RV crap. I'll leave it plugged in in the heat and see how it performs, except that it seems solid enough to get the job done. Update, I let it run for a couple of weeks, sometimes with AC, sometimes without. He coped well with the summer heat in the RV, the temperature inside sometimes rose to 118 degrees, and he just turned on the fan and went about his business more often. Update 2: Still dealing with being ravaged 24/7 by various 12v accessories I use in the camper, I even hook up random car batteries to the system to charge them and it takes care of it therefore, with negligible amount due to air circulation, the poor man endures the torture next to me. For anyone with a broken unit I would suggest investing in a good quality surge protector for their RV or hooking up the one they use at home or business to a decent surge protector, if not that's all you need. when it smokes. Update: Bought in June 2019 and now February 2020, the power supply still works great and hasn't had any major issues, definitely a very solid and well made unit. If it can survive me and all the stupid things I do, it should definitely be bought. I will update again in a year with the final conclusion. UPDATE: July 2020, the unit is still working and showing no signs of use after two years of heat and 24 hours of use, he's also charged a few car batteries since then and he's been eating it like a pro, definitely a good buy and if it were going to explode today , I would order another one, definitely worth the money. Update: March/2021: Still trying to kill it, bad boy survived Covid, snow chew, dead battery, non stop use 24 hours a day since original purchase and it's still working. I still connect batteries to him to charge them up from time to time and he eats them like a barbarian. It even survived the failure of the air conditioning and it did its job during the day in 110 degrees heat and poor ventilation, I'll just buy another one for the workbench. Last Updated: October 26th, 2021: I can't kill him.
