Review on πŸ”₯ Enhanced SunFounder Raspberry Pi 4B Aluminum Case: Dual Fan System with High-Performance Aluminium Alloy Heatsink – Ideal for Raspberry Pi 4 Model/Pi 4B by Jaleel Akuffo

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Quiet passive cooling. Durable and well made. Very chic look.

Well made and solid case. The finish is beautifully smooth. Lots of gaps and cutouts inside the case to keep components from shorting out. There are contact points for CPU and RAM chips for cooling with included thermal pads. There is no focal point for the Ethernet/USB chip, but it doesn't need to be cooled either, looking at thermal imaging for the Pi2/3 online. The acrylic window is darkened, but the power and SD card activity lights are clearly visible. The window rattles a bit, but that can be fixed with glue. Not really noticeable unless you lift or move the case, but it doesn't fall out. Easy access to GPIO pins, but I've covered mine with an inert IDE connector since it's not used much. I tested the case with "Stress", E-Linux stress test script, CPUBURN and playing N64 007 Goldeneye. Compared to my other case which uses small aluminum heatsinks and an external fan I had from an old computer, this case holds up as a passively cooled case. Temperatures were just a few degrees warmer than the other high-fan cases (37.61 CFM, 12V, 60mm). On my old case with only passive cooling under load, I brought the processor to 67.1 degrees; In this case the temperature was maintained at 42.9 and the case was cool. The ambient temperature in the room was 68F/20C. It's pretty impressive. The rest of my recorded testimony is attached. Overall, I highly recommend this case if you're concerned about the heat. Excellent heat dissipation. A must have when overclocking your Pi3. Updated 01/12/2018. The case did a great job of keeping the Pi cool when overclocking. However, the Bluetooth and WLAN signal suffers greatly. This isn't a problem for me as I use ethernet and a wired USB controller to play. However, this is something to consider when purchasing this case if you need these features to work with on-board antennas.
