It's somewhere between 3 and 4. The instructions are very small, not the easiest to assemble, but once you get started everything will work pretty quickly. Just be careful what rods and fabric shelves you use, they vary in length but are very close together. Reading previous reviews helped, especially the part about putting in suspension bars. The suspension area is really the only problem I have. Pants and jeans only fit if they are completely folded in half, I'll try normal pant hangers, maybe it will help. The ties had to be folded in half to fit. All shirts are medium in size and require gathering at the bottom, which is not recommended for dress shirts. However, the closet is quite sturdy and solves our tiny closet problem. It's in our guest room, so it's good that we can close it when we have visitors. Yes, really slammed 😀. Definitely happy for just under $40.
