Terrible at medium speeds

I put two of these on a Chrysler 300 and they sounded good at idle and with the lid fully open. From 2000-4000 rpm it sounded terrible and was terribly loud both inside and out. It wasn't even a smooth transition in volume or pitch. That's why I switched to stock.
