I bought these for my Dyson Hot Cool HP02 and they fit perfectly, easy to install and so far so good. Turn off and unplug the unit (and if it gets hot, let it cool down first). Press 2 buttons to open the cover and remove the old filter. Insert the new filter into the cap until it clicks into place (you may not hear a click, but you should feel it click into place). Then put the lid and filter back on the unit until it clicks into place - you'll definitely want to hear it and know everything is fine when the two knobs lock the lid onto the unit. Open the small flap on the back and gently run a cotton swab over it to clean the sensor (I personally didn't see any residue from this step, but hopefully it cleared what it was supposed to be cleaning?). Put the device back into the wall. This step is very important - press and hold the ON button on the remote for 6 seconds to reset the filter indicator or go to the Dyson app and reset the filter indicator in the app. If you did it correctly, you will see on your device that the LED icon will move clockwise, indicating that it is resetting the filter indicator. Once the process is complete, F will stop blinking and your device's display will return to normal.
