My phone already floats pretty well in the water so I bought it because it "floats" which it couldn't. Luckily I tested it with my phone in the sink before relying on it. It really did create a waterproof seal, so if that's just the water protection you were looking for, this will do the job if you want something to protect your phone and let it float. If you dropped it in water, this is not for you. At least with my cell phone. Can work on lighter. I would like to add an edit, I tried to force as much air as possible into the case before sealing it. He worked better but still seemed about to drown. I think my phone was too heavy, the extra air also made it even more awkward to use.
