Well this G4 camera is great. It has an amazingly detailed video feed, great night vision, and captures movement very well. The smart detection to ONLY identify people is amazing, it can tell my dog from a human and only the human will trigger a notification on my phone (although it will record all movements for later review if you wish). This ability to differentiate between movement and people is great and reduces false calls on my phone. You seem to see the difference over time, although I'm not sure. Initially, Smart Detect caught my dog, but now it doesn't happen on Smart Detect anymore, only on motion detection level. However, the system has several disadvantages. I desperately needed an autonomous video surveillance system WITHOUT cloud communication. This system will do it for the most part, the video exists offline. Unfortunately, notifications can only be activated via the cloud part of the system. Also, the system isn't particularly user-friendly, you have to play around with the settings a lot to activate something. And many of them are not intuitive. On the plus side, detecting the camera with the NVR was quick and easy. All in all, if you are tech savvy then this is a stable system with high resolution and some advanced detection capabilities BUT it won't be of interest to those who aren't tech savvy enough.
