Review on πŸ” Apple Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro 12.9 - 5th Gen, US English, Black by Valerie Alicea

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not enough, but still not bad.

Great tactile feel - premium and really enjoyable typing experience. As with most Apple products, "it just works". Nonetheless. No Escape key (seriously, if you need a keyboard at all, use Escape all the time - especially for media consumption and backtracking). full screen mode, etc.). There's currently no good way around this other than to do something stupid like remap the caps lock key to make it work as an escape. No function keys. This means there's no built-in way to do very, very basic keyboard tasks like adjusting volume, adjusting screen brightness, skipping tracks, exposure, etc. etc. It's heavy and quite thick - meaning the iPad this keyboard case is thicker AND heavier than 13-inch MacBook Air or Pro. Opening and closing is rather cumbersome. Offers no true edge protection and only works with a pair of custom, minimalist cases. In addition, this is a very good typing keyboard. I think a Bluetooth keyboard (with all the keys a keyboard should have) and a stand that allows you to raise your iPad higher goes much better with a "laptop". If you work at a desk, use a Bluetooth keyboard and stand if you're using the iPad for its intended purpose (like a tablet), then just lay it on the sofa (in a protective case, if you like). Money.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Some difficulties
