I've been using mine 2-3 times a day for a little over 2 months now. Every time I use it, I immediately smell hot electronics (some describe it as a burning smell), which is NORMAL for cheap Chinese-made electric motors. The secret of the long service life of this type of engine lies in the short power pulse. So far I haven't had any issues with it not being able to mix properly, but then again I mainly use liquid + powder, the occasional frozen blueberry, nothing tiring like big dense chunks of frozen fruit. For a longer lifespan (1 year+), the duty cycle is no more than 10-20 seconds. If the mixture does not mix well during this time, if there is too little liquid in the mixture, or if it needs to be shaken by hand and re-inflated, a rest period of approximately 15 seconds should be allowed between flashes.
