Review on 🎀 Hotec UHF Dual Wireless Microphone System - Lapel Lavalier & Headset Mic Set for PA, Mixer, Speaker, Karaoke Machine - Church, Training, Classroom, Interview (Model: H-K25) by Denise Shippee

Long range and good clarity for an economical wireless setup

I bought a set that includes a (dual) base unit, two headsets and two lavalier microphones. No handheld microphones. The construction of the base unit and transmitter seems to be pretty solid and has an easy to read LCD display. The only weak point might be the 1/4" mix output plug on the back of the base, which feels loose. The lav mics are a little less sensitive than I had hoped. Great for not picking up ambient noise, but limiting as you might miss picking up the bride if you're just miking the groom at the wedding. Something that can offset the board control gain increase. Concerned about range (distance)? Do not be. I was able to travel 350 feet from the base and never lost connection or audio quality. Extremely impressive! There are volume controls on both the base and transmitters. The only negatives are the cheap belt clip on the transmitters, the lack of gain control, and the shorter than expected mic cables. I would also prefer removable batteries over internal rechargeable ones. I suspect that the transmitters become useless once they die. I haven't tested the voiceovers much for quality, but initial testing has shown them to be good enough for an auctioneer, preacher, or seminar. I think it will be enough if my band's drummer also writes a few songs. Remember that you need a 120V AC outlet to power the 12V DC inverter (power). Or you can use your own 12V DC portable power supply, even a car battery will do. Comes with a short 1/4" to 1/4" instrument cable (like a guitar cable) for connection to a mixer, power amplifier or speaker. Otherwise, you will need to purchase an XLR cable (microphone cable) to connect the base station to a mixer or powered speaker.
