Great monocular, but there are problems.

This monocular works very well under the right conditions. If you want clear and stable shots, a tripod is highly recommended. The monocular has a 1/4 inch threaded hole for attachment. So far I'm very happy with what I've achieved with this device. The smartphone holder is a bit fiddly, but it works. What I received does not match what is shown in the description/picture. The one in the picture has a screw to tighten the smartphone, mine doesn't. Instead, internal springs are used to clamp the phone in place. I don't know what it is (probably an older model?). I've had one instance where I accidentally tripped over it which made it move and I had to fiddle with it again. Also, the method of attaching the smartphone holder to the monocular is not secure. It uses only one screw to tighten and stays on the monocular by squeezing, there is no screw hole. I worry that one day it might just slip off. Maybe I'll get a better update in the future. aligned, open the camera app and you will see a black surrounding circle. n a little to get rid of it. With the tripod I have I was able to get a good picture/video of a bird on my family's feeder. The first photo is from my phone with no links (a bird feeder is visible in the distance). Video with monocular and smartphone holder. The monocular has a fixed zoom and can be manually focused if necessary. While the video clip isn't perfect (I forgot to turn off autofocus in the camera app), it still looks great! Much better than I expected! Also, since the monocular is designed to be handheld, I will probably never use it that way unless you have a VERY steady hand, it's going to shake a lot. For me it is better to use a tripod.
