Update: 6 months in Rubik's bundle allows you to spend more time with your wife than with me. She learned how to assemble the cube with it, she loves the cube. Which now has cockpit decals to replace the factory original. I still enjoy collecting dice and this is one of my travel dice. This works very well with Cubeeast (which works with almost all Smart Cubes) and helps break down solutions better. With this cube I can see where I need to work on my solutions using the native app or Cubeeast. I can still highly recommend this cube. I only had to clean and re-lube a few times. As a basis for this review, I would like to start with my experience with dice. I've been working on cubes and speedcubes for the past 2 years (for cubes I have a PB of 14.31 using the stackmat timer). I have Gocube, Giiker and Gan, smartcube and will review this product for a comparative approach. The linked Rubik's Cube is a fun cube to have in your collection. It spins well and the cube has decent corner cut and strong magnets. Pros: - Magnetization (a bit strong for my taste, but within reason) - About 45 degree bevel and 35 degree back bevel - Base decal colors are standard. Rubik's color scheme (kind of a semi-light mix) - High quality plastic Cons: - Terrible stickers (go to the booth for quality stickers) - Cube wobbles with no adjustment system, pops and corners are possible (but rare) - Weight (it's not terrible, but this is one of the heaviest Smart Cubes I have). I only come to the app from a comparative perspective: - Best native dice app with few connections or app bugs - Games are interesting, not the best way to learn through play in my opinion (Giiker games are better for learning but not so exciting) - Academy is great for beginners but doesn't have a speedcuber method to teach advanced techniques (Gan is better at it if you're willing to type what you need) - The app is the closest fragment to the right rotation (all apps have this problem to varying degrees but I believe the basic method is not to figure out what this app and also Gocube app best suits this situation. The movement counter will be wrong but it doesn't try to guess , which you did Long moves don't count, but it won't mess up your move count because it reads as the opposite move (r reads like L) and then the rest of your Z A bit weird. Overall, the app is definitely the best app out there for beginners. Heck, my wife stole the cube because she loves the app and cube combo. Comparison of the Cube with other Smart Cubes. - More normal shape than Gokuba pillow mess - Less freezing than Gan cubes (seriously, I can't get them to work well for me) - Quieter and less freezing than Giiker cubes. I would recommend this cube to anyone from a beginner to a pro, it's absolutely fun and a quick way to compete. The manufacturer Particula gets a special reputation here. My Cube was delivered with a manufacturing defect. I know these things happen and I don't blame them in any way. Instead, I give special thanks to the customer service team and their genuine commitment to their customers. So here's the situation, my cube came in and a center was spinning slowly, sometimes spinning the edges and corners around it when it wasn't moving. So I turned to Particula. Her response came almost immediately and with genuine concern. They were upset that the cube turned out to be far from perfect. They let me mock the cube a bit to see if it would go away, when I forgot to email them they contacted me to check. The problem was better, but still occurs. They sent me a tag and before I dropped my cube they already sent me a new cube. Your customer service was legendary and exceeded my expectations. Which is actually fine with them. When my gocube had a problem, they accepted it and fixed it without question. The best reason this cube is better than the competition is because of the customer service. If you have any problem they will do their best to help you. Seriously, this is an impressive company and I couldn't praise them more highly.
