Review on ❄️ IceProbe Thermoelectric Aquarium Chiller - Compact Cooling Solution - 4" x 4.75" x 7.5 by Shannon Cool

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Someone says it's cool! Someone says it sucks?

This is the second Iceprobe cooler purchased. In my 5 gallon tank the first temp drops from 80F to 75F. I want to lower 75F to optimal 71F. The result is measured with JW's intelligent temperature thermometer. 1) Judging by the comment, hydroponic users appreciate this chiller for its reservoir (plastic), while aquarium users (glass) dislike this chiller. Because vacuum > air > plastic > glass > diamond as an insulator. Since glass is thermally conductive enough to be usable as shown in my picture, bubble wrap insulation is a must, at least on the side of the radiator, maybe on the back, like aquarium wallpaper. 2) Before purchasing chillers, try existing equipment. . Before purchasing thermoelectric coolers like the ICEPROBE, fans blowing across the aquarium can vaporize the water and lower the temperature by a few degrees depending on the humidity, leaving a more concentrated liquid behind. Before buying electromechanical chillers, such as JBJ, TECO, the air conditioner is a mature, efficient and cheap device, which can also remove sweat outside the aquarium. These technologically and financially simpler alternatives make both thermoelectric and electromechanical chillers less popular and expensive. low before resorting to conditioner. For some reason the fan is not working well, maybe because of the high humidity in Hong Kong summer? Cons: 1 costs $140 = $20 (Peltier) + $20 (Al) + $20 (power supply) + $20 (bulkhead) + $60 (gain?), which is too expensive to be made in China, not in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. In addition, the coating that attracts aquarists dissolves and does not last long. Support confirmed it's anodized aluminum, which is slightly acidic when dissolved.
