Review on Olympus 11 22Mm 2 8 3 5 Digital Cameras by Candace Johnson

Sharp and almost distortion-free.

I had this lens in my old office for 4 years. Now I've finally bought it for myself and here is my review (as I'm not a native English speaker, I apologize in advance for my mistakes.) This is a fast, weatherproof lens, sharper than 14-54 and IMO sharp as 50mm f2 . If you photograph architecture, I suggest you have it in your camera bag. When photographing architecture, you have four Olympus lenses to choose from. cheap and wide 9-18, sharp and very expensive 7-14, versatile, excellent 12-60 and 11-22.5 years ago when I had to choose a wide-angle lens for my old job. I had two choices: 11-22 and 7-14. the budget and inability to put the filter on 7-14 settled on 11-22. Now that I bought it for myself, I already knew that the 11-22 is a lens designed and built for architecture and the general public. angled landscape shots. Therefore the optics have been designed to be as distortion free as possible and I have to say that distortion, if any, is negligible. so I had to check 12-60 and 9-18 as well. Since, in addition to weather protection and sharpness, I primarily need a distortion-free image, 9-18 was removed from my list. The 12-60, although a bit sharper and with a longer zoom range, offers noticeable distortion at the wide end (an extra 1mm is sometimes just what you need). So my choice fell on a 14-54, 11-22 combo (I don't mind swapping lenses) on my e-30. With Nikon gear (D-200) in my new job, I have to say I couldn't find a lens that matches 11-22 for Nikon.
