The belt appears to be of good quality but broke immediately after installation. I know it was the correct type of belt because it matched what was listed on the bottom of the vacuum. I put the Bissell outside and bought a new one. The problem is solved. I have been pleased with Bissell's customer service and have honored them by purchasing a new vacuum cleaner of a different model. I hope this one lasts a long time and I don't have to try to fix it.
