It's called a "dock" because it's designed to plug into the left side of the USB-C port and fit under the laptop. tilt it slightly at an angle, but for laptops that only have USB-C on the right side, it's a better fit as a key. The size of the product can be an issue if you want to carry it around. If you want to take it with you, bizhub might be the best option. However, the dongle should have enough ports for each use, unless you want to output to multiple 4k monitors simultaneously.
