Review on πŸ’‘ Efficient Recessed Retrofit Downlight: EnergyStar Certified and Dimmable by Sean Xayamonty

Varies by application

I bought three of these and used them for two different jobs. The first was in a kitchen with a sloping roof where I used 2 of them, the other was in front of the fireplace. They did a great job in the kitchen. It was a low ceiling and I pointed it straight down. The beam angle was very wide, about 120 degrees, filling the small kitchen with beautiful light. In front of the fireplace, however, I was not so pleased. The tilt angle is not very large, so it was difficult for me to aim directly at the wall. And the beam angle is so wide that it really doesn't matter if it's tilted. I mean the tilt is to make it directional, direct the light in one direction. But it goes very far in all directions. In general I am satisfied with them. But as an eyeball adornment, to accentuate a coat or a work of art, the beam angle is not narrow enough.

Pros
  • Color temperature 3000K dimmable with adjustable round lens
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
