The part that holds the phone works great. The spring tension is strong, it opens wide and holds well. The thumbscrews that allow you to change the angle of the phone holder are clunky but work great. However, the molded clip that fits over your DS4 controller is flimsy, fits loosely around the controller, and the mating ends don't snap or lock in any way, meaning the whole thing is held to your controller by a hinge spring. the WEAK AF. It won't stay in place and keeps falling off your controller if you don't balance it perfectly. You can use something to hold the controller clip together, but it still doesn't fit snugly so it moves around while playing. I suspect it still works as a phone stand to put on your desk, but there are cheaper alternatives for that. Maybe I ran into a version with a bad weak spring. But if they're all like me, then it's not worth the money.
