This is my first raised panel router bit. I don't like horizontal bits, they seem a bit dangerous. Again, I keep the speed at 10,000 rpm. Higher cutters can create dangerous vibrations depending on the rigidity of the table/milling insert. I cut MDF and this router works great. Smooth finish. Unfortunately, I had to unload the back of the panel to fit the 1/4" groove. Some horizontal cutters do this in one step, but vertical cutters don't have this capability. However, I like it. Bit and the profile it creates, the classic raised plate with straight sides and a sense of security compared to horizontal bits.
