The best way to try before investing in large sets is because they are expensive!
Very glad I tried this test set. Senelliers are amazing but so expensive and so soft. I'm a beginner and I love soft pastel shades. After trying these and very affordable Mungyo and Faber Castell Polychromos and Prismacolor NuPastel I like Mungyo best and FC and PC for detail or extra work. At the moment the Senellier is too soft, crumbles easily and is too expensive for my level of work.
