This wand massager is ready to use. Mine arrived with a charger just in time when I felt a little extra pain in my arms and shoulders. I have other massagers but they are too hard for my hands. I have arthritis issues so it relaxes me a lot now. There are several different models so you can choose the one that suits you best. When it's on, it starts with a steady vibration, which is the strongest of the 8 settings. Pressing the button closest to the head disables it. Even on the highest settings, it doesn't hurt my wrists! It's so gentle! The charger connects to the wand with magnets, which is another plus for those of us with arthritis. The only downside is that you have to count the settings, there is no indication of which setting you are on. It will revert to the high default settings when powered off.
