So far this is exactly what I expected. The quality is comparable to Nikon kit lenses. Provides a lightweight and compact way to carry your travel essentials. The only thing that bothered me is some purple fringing at higher magnifications and larger apertures. It's usually only noticeable when you're actually looking for it. I started using f8 and iso from 400 to 1600 on everything and got the same quality as any of my wandering lenses. I bought mine in the 'USED' tab of 'ewave7' also labeled 'EWAVE'. It says it has been used like new but it appears to be a brand new 'grey market' lens. That means you get a new lens, but the only US warranty you get is probably the 30 days they give. "Factory Warranty" will likely require return to Japan. None of that bothers me as I believe guarantees are usually not worth much. I'll take $50 savings. The price is only $149.99 compared to other new sellers here and they may also be selling "grey market" just without mentioning it. http://www.amazon.com/Tamron-18-200mm-3-5-6-3-aspherical-digital/dp/B0015U95SW/ref=aag_m_pw_dp?ie=UTF8&m=A53W3WXS1QYDG
