Decent Chinese mount 4 stars with instructions 1 star

Good secure mount Instructions and included hardware are adequate but not perfect. Something almost nobody talks about or even mentions in the instructions is the typical single bolt mount. If your new American home is built to code, you will have 1.5" studs installed, 16" apart. So how do you securely fasten 4 screws into two adjacent studs when the fastener is only 6.5" wide? Obviously not. In the wood mount diagram shown on page, this looks like the top and bottom of the mount. The problem is that there are no holes in the center of the mount at the top and bottom. And don't even think about trying to put all four screws in the slotted holes closest to the center, since they're spaced exactly 1.5 inches apart, which is the width of your bobby pin. I figured the wood mounting instructions were just plain wrong as there was no text accompanying the diagram telling me they were proposing to mount the bracket off center. fasteners and that they would be slightly off-center, I instead lined up the stud with the oblong screw holes on one end of the fastener and decided to install the other edge into the drywall. I have found that the supplied plastic concrete anchors are completely useless as drywall anchors. I later unscrewed one of these bolts (by hand) and drove it into the center of the bolt as a third bolt for added protection. To do this, there is a hole in the middle of the right and left edges of the bracket, although this is not mentioned in the instructions and probably isn't strictly necessary. If you're trying to mount it to the wall using the slotted holes on the very edges of the bracket, like I did, you might as well have some decent drywall anchors handy. In my case, I installed 2 of the 4 screws that came with it from one side of the bracket to the middle of my rack. . Note that these bolts have 1/2" nut heads that were too big for the 7/16" wrench that comes with my Costco Super Duper drill bit set. So I had to settle for my simple set of ratchet wrenches, an adequate but not ideal solution. The last few millimeters weren't easy to turn by hand, but I finally managed to get the screw head flush with the bracket and the wall. A more elegant solution would be to use a drill or mini ratchet like http://www.amazon.com/MAXCRAFT-60199-4-Inch-Dual-Drive-Ratchet/dp/B003BXKZZ8/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie. =UTF8&colid=20O2BAG863K6W&coliid=IBUZBW5DW7E4T with 1/2 nut like http://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DW2547Ir-4-Inch-2-Inch-Adaptor/dp/B000YQ341C/ref=pd_sim_hi_5. I can understand that the manufacturer doesn't include drywall anchors or screws for liability reasons since it's not possible to safely mount this weight into drywall alone, but it would be a little hypocritical not to even use the word "drywall" in the instructions using is what most Americans are into. , will probably screw in at least two of their screws, although I'm not exactly sure if that's necessary for at least 23 pound 32-inch LCD TVs if they can get the two or three large screws that come with them into the middle of the wooden frames. Small note: Only 2 black plastic 4-hole screw head caps are included in the kit. If you want to be fancy and hide the cables you need to cut 2 extra holes in the wall like this: [.] . This requires a drywall saw http://www.amazon.com/Great-Neck-4932-Double-Drywall/dp/B000CD1B4E/ref=sr_1_4?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1344627014&sr=1-4&keywords=drywall+saw and steel band, for example: http://www.amazon.com/Greenlee-438-2X-Steel-Fish-Tape/dp/B001HWEEIY/ref=sr_1_1?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1344625427&sr=1-1&keywords=steel+ fish + tape.
