Good price, terrible management but great customer support.

So I love; Cameras and video are powered over a single CAT5 Ethernet cable! When I first bought it, I tested all 4 cameras on the kitchen table by simply connecting the cable to the DVR and camera. everyone worked! 3 stars because the management was so bad I had to call them to set up the phone app (and home router firewall). However, the customer support is excellent. Installation was as simple as crawling through the attic and running cables to the trenches where I mounted my cameras. The only problem, if you call it that, was that the waterproof cable jacket that was supposed to protect the connection between the camera and the cable didn't fit into the intended fitting on the 100ft cable. It's okay, I wrapped it in electrical tape and put the fitting in the hole (and sealed the hold). So what is "difficult" about this product? This is a setup. The manual is intended for all of the company's products, including other DVRs and other cameras. As a result, the manual is poorly written as it covers many different products and doesn't even provide basic information about this product and its cameras. Electrons are cheap, you'd think someone could spend a week writing a manual for every DVR and camera with a COLOR representation of the DVR displays. Basically, see how your cameras are ready to go right out of the box. Setting up a phone app and manipulating the router's firewall is a hassle. But if you call them from home during business hours, they can connect to your computer and set up your router for you, which is amazing! They fixed my settings quickly and the phone app worked, so thanks for the right thing! The DVR has SOOOOO many cool options. But like I said, you should go through each setting in the settings and try to match what the hell it means to the manual. That is hard. I finally figured out how to set all my cameras to the maximum video recording resolution (lots of great settings) and now 4 cameras are recording 24/7. It has enough standard storage (1TB on disk) for 6 days of verification. PROBLEMS: 1) The playback is cool, but the zoom feature during playback doesn't seem to work for me. 2) Don't expect to be able to read a license plate 100 feet away day or night, 50 feet away at best. 3) The manual controls (above) are awful 4) The settings in the settings are not intuitive and you have to "explore" all the different settings to understand how cool this dash cam is. really is.5) Motion detection. I had to turn it off as I received 100,000,000 emails saying motion was detected. It was only a moth! You can set up a grid that reports movement, I still use it but have turned off email notification. I only have one popup (which I don't really use, I just want the playback to flag all motion reports). Wall. So my guess is that if there is wind, there must be enough movement to trigger a tamper alarm. Lots of fake email notifications again. 7) Not super wide, but just enough to cover my car driveway, neighbors' driveway, and garage door. GOOD: 1) Cameras work great 2) Installation was easy (but no fun crawling in the attic ha ha) 3) Good customer support during working hours 4) Playback is great except for the scaling issue 5) The App works well, you can send at low speed (smooth) when your signal is low or high (clear). For example, "Clear" lets you see who is in the car in the driveway. The car is about 30 feet from the camera. It's blurry when set to smooth. 6) Night vision is excellent, illuminating out to 80-100ft as advertised. But again, don't expect to read a car's license plate from 100 feet away (day or night). So if you want to keep tabs on the baddies checking your car or find out who papered your house with toilet paper, this is a great little camera setup. You can connect an audio cable to the built-in microphone (wish it was part of the main cable), but it's still good for video only. The dashcam manual sucks, but the customer support (they'll call you and won't want to email you) is great.
