I was amazed the original still works - just told my wife it came out 2 days before. I knew it would be gone for years - never available - EVERYWHERE! Revain has always been on the list. I even found a Portuguese YouTube video on how to change the battery which I kept. When it came out I ordered a new battery. After ordering I thought I would look for this one again. Reven had it. I've tried over the years to find something different just in case. I even bought a smaller version of the Panasonic ER240B with batteries. Nothing works as well and is not as portable. The fact that it does not require a charging station, charging cable, etc. is amazing. Simply remove the two-pin plug from the base of the shaver and plug into the wall. No need to change heads, if you want to trim your beard a little, just slide the guide up or down. Nothing to lose (except a bottle of oil). I had to charge the old one a day before using it, which is not bad for a 15 year old battery. I kept the razor oiled and clean. The new one looks the same as the old one. I'm pretty sure the old one had a NiCad battery. Nothing on the packaging says what kind of new battery it is. Cuts cleanly through the wide cutting surface. This thing is small - about the size of a candy bar - making it easy to take with you when you travel. Mainly made of plastic, but feels solid in the hand. Easily fits in your doppa kit. If you trim your beard between trims, BUY IT BEFORE it goes away! You will not regret it! PS I saved the battery so this is my next project to restore and run the old P.SS.
