Review on Steelman 7/16-20 SAE Split Die Thread Chaser, Indexing Pins, Steel, Repairs Threads On Wheel Studs And Bolts by Fahmi Manna

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Did the Job straitening out my striped lug nuts.

Using a socket wrench didn't hold it tight enough around the lug but allowed it to expand a little. I used vice grip pliers sideways to clamp them tight to get a good cut. use a little oil. I had my teenagers change out my studded tires and they cross threaded several lugs with the impact wrench.I saw other ones had a rubber band around them in a slot. I didn't realize that would keep falling on the ground while I was trying to position them. Not a problem after the first one.You must remove the wheel first to get down to some good thread and then back them off.Over all worked great and saved my hubs.

Pros
  • Great experience
Cons
  • The product may not be durable enough to handle heavy-duty repairs
